Comment by Johnny O’Donnel I sailed with Eddie Sheeham all most every weekend for 10 years and loved each day with Vinst2. Ondine on her maiden race, Vinst2 on port tack, Ondine on starboard side and they collided! Today, Ondine wears the scar 18 inches from the stern. Russ Clayton was not very happy! Vinst2 vs. Race committee boat. I was on Vinst2 (port tack) at the finish with two boats on starboard. Eddie goes between the two boats and tacked to starboard, but the Race Committee boat is too close! 9 inches of the bow were gone The original colors of her hull were “Sweedish yellow with light blue waterline” but Eddie and I changed the color to reddish orange in 1965-1976. In 1993 Vinst2 underwent major restoration and her hull was changed to Varnish. |
